World-Class Organists Pay Tribute To Chris Gorsuch

On January 19, 2013, six organists from around the country gathered at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in San Diego, California, to pay tribute to the life, music, and rich legacy of organist Chris Gorsuch. The participating artists were Lyn Larsen, Chris Elliott, Donnie Rankin, Glenn Tallar, Russ Peck, and Jelani Eddington.

Following a reception in the fellowship hall of the church, the artists and attendees gathered in the sanctuary in which a 4/24 Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ is installed. Chris Gorsuch had been instrumental in the installation and maintenance of this organ over the years.

The artists presented a varied program of musical tributes to Chris, including:

Get Happy (Eddington, Peck)
Take Five (Eddington)
All The Things You Are (Elliott)
Love For Sale (Elliott)
All's Fair In Love And War (Rankin)
Serenade From 'The Student Prince' (Tallar)
Cute (Rankin, Peck)
Solitude (Peck)
Wake Up And Live (Larsen)
My Heart At Thy Sweet Voice (Larsen)
Warsaw Concerto (Rankin, Eddington, Peck)

Gonna Build A Mointain (encore) (Eddington, Rankin)

The tribute concert was organized by the Theatre Organ Society of San Diego, a chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society.
